Purdue and Illinois took big steps toward NCAA berths on Saturday, as both team won key quarterfinal games. Purdue manhandled fourth-seeded Iowa, while Illinois beat Indiana in OT on a "neutral" court in Chicago. While both are in a strong position to receive an invitation, losses by Nevada and Xavier are a huge blow to the at-large contenders.
A win in the semis against Ohio State or Wisconsin would almost certainly punch a ticket to the Big Dance. OSU/Purdue tips at 1:40 eastern, while Wisconsin/Illinois is scheduled for 4:05. Both games will be televised by CBS.
