Buckeyes Snooze to Win Against Purdue, 23-7

I would like to say that Ohio State played in front of a "hostile" Purdue crowd, but the truth is that there were A LOT of Buckeye fans that made the journey to Indiana. True, there were some game Boilermaker fans participating in a "black out", but the scene wasn't too bad. Any life in the crowd was doused when the Buckeyes struck quickly with two TD's pass from Todd Boeckman. Ray Small continued to show signs of improvement in his return from injury. He has the makings of a much better pure receiver than Ted Ginn Jr. was, especially at this stage.

After the 14 first quarter points, it would have been a better call to switch entirely over to baseball. The OSU offense turned in a mediocre performance, combining three Boeckman interceptions with some silly penalties. At least Coach Tressel got to see 3 field goals, which are his second favorite play after the punt. Thankfully the defense brought their A game, shutting down Purdue's prolific offense. They allowed just 4 yards rushing, hammering Curtis Painter with blitzes all night. The Boilers didn't actually score until the very end of the game with the second and third units in for garbage time. Junior LB Marcus Freeman, who some have criticized for being an underachiever(yeah that's me), put in a particularly strong performance.

The Buckeyes are now 6-0 and 3-0 in the Big Ten. With some HUGE upsets (thank you, Stanford) OSU should move up to #4 in the country.
