Buckeyes Coast Past Northwestern, 58-7

Northwestern, with their spread offense, can a pesky team. They broke a long losing streak to OSU in 2004 and typically have a few threatening playmakers. But this year's team, that lost to Duke at home, was not a challenge. They Buckeyes piled on four 1st quarter touchdowns en route to a 45 point half, and the cruised to a 58-7 win.

Brian Robiskie continued to impress with 3 catches for 89 yards, all resulting in touchdowns. Chris Wells rushed for 100 yards and TD, while junior RB Maurice Wells added 2 touchdowns of his own. The defense was just plain nasty, forcing three turnovers, including DE Vernon Gholston's 25 yard fumble recovery for a TD.

I'd love to tell you more, but the starters were out of the game so early it's hard to gauge who is getting better. This wasn't even a case of getting extensive looks at the young players - there were walk-on guys I couldn't even identify in the game. As such, I spent most of the game messaging a friend and flipping to other games.
