Playing the first of two consecutive night road games, Ohio State defeated the young Gophers 30-7. Chris Wells ran for 116 yards and 2 TD's, while Todd Boeckman tossed two scores. Brian Robiskie made a the play of the night, a leaping circus catch on a 52-yard bomb.
The Buckeye offense was a little inconsistent in the first half, and the defense surrended more yardage than expected. This was a Minnesota team that lost to Florida Atlantic. Playing in front of his homestate family and friends, LB Jim Laurinaitis played a solid game and made some big stops.
The Buckeyes travel to Purdue to take on the undefeated Boilermakers next Saturday in the national game of the week. This stinks of last year's Iowa game, where a fired up, drunk crowd encourages their boys to hang tough.
