Ohio State's Vegas Vacation

The Ohio State side of this blog has been on hiatus for a few days, spending money like there's no tomorrow in Las Vegas. But we're back and gearing up for the spring game this Saturday. Virtually all of Ohio State's top recruiting targets will be in attendance, and we'll have updates on the players making big moves this spring.

Much has been made of the draft status of Greg Oden, Mike Conley and Daequan Cook. The three freshmen are debating whether to enter the draft after their freshmen year, and they seem poised to at least declare themselves eligible. While the loss of all three would be disappointing, remember that 9 elite recruits are headed to Columbus over the next 2 seasons, so the cupboard isn't exactly bare.

For now, we'll leave with this excerpt from Gary Parrish of CBS Sportsline. He talks about all that Ohio State accomplished last year, and wonders whether schools like UVA would trade all they have for such a season:

"The Cavaliers not only missed the NCAA Tournament title game this season, the Cavaliers have missed the NCAA Tournament title game every season in the history of seasons. So, in some regard Ohio State's freshman class accomplished more in one year than Virginia has accomplished in 100-plus years of organized basketball."
